OUR ETHICS

It is our goal to champion sustainability, ethical sourcing, inclusion, and diversity.
It is our aim to foster an environment (both online and in our studio)
that is free from racism, ageism, and body negativity.
These, are our ethics.

SUSTAINABILITY

We are committed to making our impact on the planet as minimal or thoughtful as possible. That means working with suppliers who also feel the same. We want to cherish the planet and take care of what we have before it's gone, while working to foster renewal and work to educate and grow this mission within our community.

SOURCING

At LanaBetty we work with second generation gem cutters direct to source our semi-precious gemstones. We have built a strong working relationship with real humans and value that connection very much. Wherever possible, we avoid using second-hand supply companies because it contributes to the cost and reduced the actual value for the gem cutters.

Our diamonds are sourced from our friends at Misfit Diamonds, here in Vancouver. All stones are sourced using the kimberly process and they work to ensure all diamonds are conflict-free. Our values are also aligned so it is an excellent match!

All one-off or custom pieces may be sourced from other places, but we will always endeavour to provide authenticity certifications (if warranted) to ensure the quality you are getting is top tier.

INCLUSIVITY

It is our goal to promote belonging and inclusiveness in an environment where individuals with diverse backgrounds and talents can shop, be accepted, and welcomed at LanaBetty.

Our studio is a safe space of inclusion for age, gender, skin color, who you love, and body shape. Those who are not aligned with our values of inclusivity are not welcome.

Most of our jewelry can be customized with larger or smaller chain lengths and our rings can be made between sizes 3 and 16. Leave a comment with your desired adjustment in the note section at the checkout. Not sure? Send us an email and we will help you out!

DIVERSITY

We want to work with suppliers, photographers, models, florists, etc, who are aligned with our desire to support BIPOC communities. This includes hiring support from said communities wherever possible and making sure our website and social feed is diverse and inclusive.
