In the City: Sewing with Spool of Thread

Posted by 1 on

This weekend is my much awaited (and very first ever) sewing class! Sure, I took a sewing class in high school, but I very much doubt the draw-string toque sewing project I massacred really counts. All of my sewing projects, to date, have been self-taught. I look up tutorials, I have learned the lingo and my day job involves looking at mixed up stitches and misaligned fabrics. I am not completely inept, but I felt it was time to learn more. What a better way to indulge in a little "professional development" than a class led by the incredibly capable and talented folks over at Spool of Thread? They offer many services in their shop beyond sewing supplies (and the most amazing fabric selection, ever) including sewing classes! Maybe a tank top is 'easy' to sew, but my self-confidence could use a little hand holding. I have signed up and am so excited to meet my class mates and begin my project! My only trouble now, is how to choose my fabric for the tank top I am going to sew. Which one should I choose? Spool of Thread Class Check out Spool of Thread on 101-649 E. 15th Avenue.
