If you have been living under a rock or have had a busy week, maybe you missed it - last week there was a fire at the Maritime Labour Center. To the organizers (and our) dismay, the damages were extensive enough to warrant shutting down the venue until mid-May. C'est dommage! What to do!? Where to go!? Have no fear, Andrea & Rob (organizers of Got Craft?) broke into action and sent a call out into the community. I have not seen such a frenzy of activity and outpouring of support for an event in such a long time. It is a true testiment to the strong sense of community one feels when they interact with Got Craft as a whole. Special thanks to the organizers for being so open and communicating with the vendors while working out a great solution for us all.[/caption] The new venue is: Templeton Secondary School Gymnasium (FYI it's bigger than the Maratime Labour Center) 727 Templeton Drive, Vancouver between Adanac and Turner Street. [caption id="attachment_2442" align="aligncenter" width="580"] The New Venue is a short 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the Maritime Labour Center (which is closed due to fire) Come visit![/caption] Connected to the community, Got Craft? has been operating for over 10 years in Vancouver and the Greater Metro Area, highlighting the incredible handmade talent in Vancouver. This year, Got Craft is also expanding into the Mini Maker Faire (June 2,3) at the PNE. From Got Craft:
The Spring Got Craft? features 80+ handmade vendors, DIY Workshops, Swag Bags for the first 50 customers through the door each day, and yummy food carts. The Spring show is packed with all kinds of fun things to see and do!So tell your friends, spread the word, and share the love. We the vendors, are incredibly thankful that another venue has been secured and are eager to share our hard work and our labours of love with the world. See you this weekend.
