Another weekend has come and gone and another weekend was spent pimping the fine goods of LanaBetty. This past weekend I had the honor and privilege to attend the Spring Got Craft? Show at the Royal Canadian Legion on Commercial Drive. Got Craft? has a bit of a reputation (a good reputation), as eager attendees line up hours and hours in advance with hopes of scoring one of the highly coveted and exclusive swag bags (available to the first 50 people through the door). From the very beginning at 10am, the Legion was packed. A steady stream of customers lined up and poured into the building until the doors closed at 5pm. I'm not sure how many attendees there were in total, but I would guess more than anyone was expecting! Thank-goodness, this wasn't my first rodeo, having attended a handful of Vancouver craft shows over the past few months, I knew how voracious customers could be. I made myself a detailed inventory and purchased supplies well in advance. I spent time every day leading up to the show creating, crafting and building stoke; I wasn't going to be caught unaware. I was ready and it showed. New to LanaBetty at this show were post-earrings and I am very happy to announce they were a smashing success. I sold out several colors and will be listing them in the online shop soon! More colors and variations will also be available at the upcoming Portobello West Summer Market (details here). In addition to the new stock, in order to catch everyone's eye, I hand-crafted a banner! Supplies included an ikea bedsheet, acrylic paints and a whole lot of elbow grease. I am very pleased with the results and the feedback was positive! Overall, the show was a success! The customers were great, patient and inspiring and my fellow vendors (Locomotive Clothing Co., A Cagey Bee, Divina//Denuevo, to name a few) were supportive, high-energy and a treat to interact with! From the very bottom of my heart, I thank Andrea and Robert from Lotus Events for crafting an excellent show and an excellent lineup of talent!
