Viva Vancouver

Posted by 1 on

About a year ago now, I decided to turn my life upside-down. I gave notice at my comfortable job that paid me an inordinate amount of money to taste wine and light things on fire. I was one of the few who contributed to some of the finest wines in the western world. I gave it all way though, for love. For adventure. I gave notice and three months later, I was on my way, driving to the big city. The big city of course, being Vancouver. And now, a year later, here I am. Loving life. They said Vancouver was too busy. Too urban. Too much traffic. Whine whine whine. When I look around, all I see is beauty. Every day I cross over a section of the Fraser River and am often rendered speechless by the sight of Mount Baker on the horizon; it makes the traffic hard to notice. I meet new people every day, I love taking the skytrain and there are more than a million ways for me to spend my hard earned money having fun! Speaking of hard earned money, I love my job. I work in the pharmaceutical industry now, which is more closely aligned to what I went to school for. I enjoy the complexities of my job and the extremely high expectations my employer has for myself and my coworkers. I do love a challenge. I am proud to introduce to you, my Vancouver inspired #WednesdayTreasury:

'Viva Vancouver!' by LanaBetty

I love this City! I've been in Vancouver for 9 months now and I can't imagine my life outside this city. The hockey, wilderness, ocean, urban-lifestyle all so tangible and exciting! The hustle, the bustle! I love the West Coast!

  • Hi Aunt Yvonne!
Thanks for the encouragement, it’s nice to get comments/feedback and doubly-so when it’s family!

  • Hi Lana, great to hear some inspiring words. There are too many people involved in the hustle and bustle of the world and do not take the time to enjoy nature, sports and all there is. Have a great day and keep on living as though it were your last day!!
