Margarita Pairs with Tangerine Tango

Posted by 1 on

Last week I posted about Pantone's color of 2012; Tangerine Tango. I was so inspired by the orange hues I felt I should follow up this week with another of Pantone's colors: Margarita. This comes on the tails of my trip south of the border, a foray, into the wild south of Seattle. My Fiance's sister and I went down for one night and stayed at the prestigious hipster hideout, Ace Hotel, adventured to Molly Moon's Ice Cream in Capitol Hill, had dinner at Local 360 and made a point of finding Fancy and Schmancy on 2nd Avenue. Many good times were had. I can't forget the visit to Beecher's Cheese and the very first Starbucks (at Pike Place Market). What I found most interesting, was the quantity (and quality) of Mexican establishments once you cross over into the USA. In Vancouver, the majority of restaurants are Japanese and most signage is written in both English and an Asian language; 5 minutes past the border, signs are littered with Spanish and Mexican food joints are overly abundant. We ate at several Mexican stops and I had fish tacos for the first time (YUM). While the color can be taken in the literal sense, for the most part, Pantone defines Margarita as a more of a sea foam green than a lime green. I was so excited to be searching greens that would pair with Tangerine Tango that I included all of my favorite exuberant greens. Enjoy this week's #WednesdayTreasury; next week there is a promise of Cockatoo Blue!
