Lana Hicks, Owner of LanaBetty Designs

I am, by nature, a very imaginative and creative person. I try to live my experiences like they are new and fresh; a discovery. I try to think outside the box, but sometimes I think inside the box.

I used to hate the rain, but now that I live in a rainy city, I have a beautiful pair of rain boots and I like splashing in puddles and watching rain roll down the street.

When I was young, I found myself at a crossroad. The left was fine arts, jewelry design and a colorful imagination. The right was logic, sciences, and biology. I initially chose biology, working hard to become the scientist I am today; which I have thankfully, been able to make my own road back to jewelry design!

Artist Biography:
Lana is a self-taught artist and designer based originally from Kelowna, British Columbia. Through her studies at UBC to become a biologist, Lana learned to appreciate and to pay attention to the minute details of life. After graduating, she began her creative outlet with LanaBetty Designs and is now living and creating on the West Coast of Vancouver, British Columbia. She draws her inspiration from bright, vibrant colors and from the love of all things cute, adorable, and fun.

Why did LanaBetty begin?
Desperate for change, bored of the everyday and needed a creative outlet. LanaBetty began in Kelowna, BC and is now located in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).
